Keep The Faith. Things Are Getting Better.
You have a sense of malaise, that state defined by Webster’s New World College Dictionary as:
A vague feeling of uneasiness, often, specifically, one that is pervasive in a community.
Maybe it’s the short days and lack of sunlight. Or maybe you had a rough holiday season with drunk uncle holding court at Christmas Eve dinner. Or maybe you suffered through too many cocktail-free holiday “parties” as a result of #MeToo.
Or maybe, you’re just worn out from the chaos of 2017 described by Dave Barry in his “Year in Review: Russia Mania, covfefe and the Category 5 weirdness of 2017” — a few highights here:
Well, do I have GOOD NEWS for you! It wasn’t any of those. It is something much simpler and easier to fix.
You missed me! You really MISSED ME!!
You MISSED MY POSTS!!!
It may sound incredibly egotistical for me to say that your missing me is the cause of your malaise. But I’ve decided to take a cue from Trump and say it like it is, acknowledge my importance to the blogging community and to America. Believe me, this is huge personal growth for me. Throughout my life, I’ve been understated, reserved, classy. Enough! I’m going to OWN my GREATNESS in 2018. I know you missed me. Very, very, VERY much.
So have faith. I’ll post more in 2018. You will feel better. I promise you that.
