My parents recently celebrated 59 years of marriage! It’s not every day you hear that. And they are still happy and love each other very much. So what’s their secret? Read on.
First, how did they celebrate their 59th? With dessert for starters: the Princess Cake from Victoria Bakery in Marin which is made with a Vanilla sponge cake (triple sec soaked) with a layer of raspberry jam, vanilla custard, and whipped cream, draped in green almond marzipan.
The green almond marzipan makes it DeathbedFood according to my mom.
So, what’s their secret? Hint: My mom chose the cake on her own without my dad’s input.
