Savor it this weekend on the MOS Open Studio Tour.
While DeathbedFood is defined as “something so good you could die happy at first bite”, it is really a much bigger concept. Philosophically, DBF can be applied in any number of realms in life – something so good you could die happy afterwards. Great art can qualify without question.
In making the film about Canal Alliance’s mural project, I recently discovered Marin Open Studios, an organization that is dedicated to helping the visual arts flourish in Marin County. MOS was also a sponsor of the mural project.
MOS’s annual Art Tour is happening this weekend and next weekend throughout Marin County. It’s a chance to discover amazing art and meet the artists. For more information, you can view the tour guide and learn more about the artists by using the Find Art search function. You can also check out their “26 Artist Picks“.
My “taste” skews towards food art like the pieces seen below but they have something for everyone from rugs to sculpture to modern to portraits and more.
Also, I recommend that you try to see Canal Alliance’s installed mural in person. They are located at 91 Larkspur Street in San Rafael and will be open from 10am – 3pm Saturday and Sunday (this weekend AND next weekend). To learn more about their project, check out the film made by my company, Epic Indy:
