If I had President Biden over for dinner, I’d pull out Barefoot Contessa’s “Cooking for Jeffrey” ~
If I had the honor of cooking for our new President of the United States, I’d make some of his favorites. Although Joe says he’s not a foodie, he relishes a good ol’ fashioned pasta and red sauce dinner. And he is famous for loving ice cream.
Looking at my Barefoot Contessa library, I pulled out the “Cooking for Jeffrey” cookbook for inspiration. If those recipes delight Ina’s husband Jeffrey, they’ll do so for President Biden.
Starting with dessert, I’d do the Pecan Rum Raisin Ice Cream. Even though Joe doesn’t drink, the rum is part of a heated sauce so the alcohol would evaporate. The recipe looks intimidating and I’ve never made my own ice cream but I’m up for the challenge given the opportunity to make DeathbedFood for the President. See the recipe here.
Man cannot live by ice cream alone, especially when it comes to an actual meal. I’d make President Biden an Italian supper sure to touch his heart: spaghetti with Barefoot’s Roasted Italian Meatballs. With sirloin, pork and veal that recipe sounds like DeathbedFood. Ina’s meatballs are pictured with Rao’s Homemade Sauce so that’s what I’d do also. See the recipe here.
Tweet me @DeathbedFood if you make this Joe Biden supper and let me know if you liked it!
