What I Did For Summer Vacay: Print at Ink48 NYC.
In Part II of my “What I Did Over Summer Vacation” homework assignment, I’m sharing my restaurant adventures in the Big Apple. It’s 3 weeks away from Halloween and when was this due again? Whatever. I need an extension. I mean, do you really want to risk damaging my self-esteem and demotivating me with an “incomplete”? Think about those ramifications. Extra credit for using “ramification”?
Part II – Chapter 4 NYC: Dinner, Print Restaurant, Ink48 Hotel
When visiting a city, it’s always best to get hotel and dining recommendations from a local – especially when that local is Sourabh Sharma (AKA @sssourabh and @foodbysssourabh). When New Yorker Sourabh came to LA earlier this year, I was under intense pressure to book a winning spot which I did (see our Gracias Madre vegan venture here). This time, the tables were turned and Sourabh turned them back over blindfolded, with one hand, in 2.1 seconds by suggesting the Ink48 Hotel, their Print Restaurant for dinner and their rooftop, The Press Lounge, for a nightcap.
Using a sports reference, the experience was a hat trick.
- Ink48 Hotel: Kimpton boutique. Midtown, central location. Cool vibe.
- Print Restaurant: Food fab, as can be seen by just two dishes here. Of course, their fulltime forager to source ingredients from regional farms and local purveyors helps.
- Press Lounge Rooftop: Lived up to its rep from Sourabh who said it’s one of the best views in the city. I believe him.
On my next trip to NY, I’m gonna repeat this exact trio, even it’s January in a blizzard. That’s how good it was. Thank you, Sourabh.
