Jean-Georges and Bourdain Both Die Over Sushi …
In Angeleno Magazine, Jean-Georges says his DeathbedFood meal would be a 24-piece sushi spread, sipping sake. Meantime, in a recent Guardian interview, Anthony Bourdain said his last supper would be a sushi dinner.
- Having learned how to speak Japanese so he could banter with Jiro;
- Eating quickly, as Jiro instructs, so the rice stays perfect, the seaweed doesn’t become soggy and the fish is tasted at the best temperature; and
- Enjoying sake like Jean-Georges – but the most rare and expensive sake possible.
Good that Bourdain says he’d be alone at the sushi bar “to die like an old lion – to crawl away into the bushes where no one can see me draw my last breath.” Otherwise, I’d fear the two chefs together at Jiro’s place may induce early unwanted results.
To ensure they don’t accidentally meet there at the sushi bar, let’s think of a place besides Sukiyabashi Jiro where Jean-Georges should go. Tweet me @DeathbedFood with ideas.
