Laduree makes me happy to be an Angeleno.
I’ve always wanted to live in New York. Not for Broadway, the Met or Central Park. No. I’ve pined to reside in the Big Apple for the food. I know how lucky New York food lovers are. I’ve had ah-mazing DeathbedFood from restaurant escapades in NYC — from Scott Conant’s Scarpetta to ABC Kitchen, from Locanda Verde to Danny Meyer’s Union Square Cafe and North End Grill — and I can’t forget Harlem’s Dinosaur BBQ either. Laduree is on the list. I’ve begged my New York friends to ship their macarons to me ever since I stopped by the Upper East Side store (never got any). Finally, Laduree’s arrived in Beverly Hills. French omelettes, chocolate croissants and world class macarons. I’m finally at peace now with living on the left coast. Added bonus: I won’t have to bug my NY friends anymore so I’ll still have a place to stay in that city of DeathbedFood.
