The ‘RIP Anthony Bourdain’ Series
By all appearances, I hated Anthony Bourdain. I loathed his self promotion via In-N-Out, his narrow New York-skewed view of LA and its strip mall food, and his ‘King of Potty Humor‘ status. But in reality, I just wanted Tony’s attention. Ranting about him was my 3rd grade boy’s way of pulling the cute 3rd grade girl’s pony tail.
Even though I wrote about him more than other celebrity chef, sadly, very sadly, I never got a chance to meet him.
After marinating on how I could best pay my respects on his tragic passing, I decided to do a series of posts about him – specifically, about people I admire and the impact Tony had on them. People like:
- Jose Andres;
- Eric Ripert;
- Andrew Zimmern;
- Roy Choi;
- Bethenny;
- Danny Meyer;
- Mark Peel;
- Ludo Lefebvre;
- Barack Obama;
- Krista Simmons;
- Food GPS;
- Ruth Reichl;
- Photographer Russel Wong;
- Mia Farrow; and
- Astronaut Scott Kelly.
Stay tuned for Part 1 in the series: Jose Andres on Bourdain.
