Sloppy Joe’s was one of my favorite meals growing up. It’s no wonder because my mom had the best recipe. The other night, we pulled it out from the archives and had a DeathbedFood supper.
There are two secrets to making these Sloppy Joe’s DeathbedFood:
- Take your time to brown the ground beef slowly and thoroughly. You want that crispy yet almost caramelized look; and
- Add more red and yellow peppers than is called for to add a gorgeous pop of color and tiny bit more sweetness. Added bonus: you get your veggies that way!
Pair with oven fries (cut up potatoes with olive oil and butter, salt and pepper). And voila!
