Barely six months in, I somehow qualified myself to be “Press” at the Governor’s Ball Food and Beverage Preview. Little did I know I’d meet someone from CBS LA who would later rank @DeathbedFood as One of the Top 5 Foodies in LA to Follow on Twitter.

I only did TWO posts that year. Maybe because I got burned out from being rejected for that food blogging job? After much deliberation I’ll choose the Prince post because: (1) Any chance I get I’ll pay tribute; and (2) I wholeheartedly agree with him about the phones – “Put your phone down. You can’t get down with technology in your hand!”

When a restaurant experience takes me totally by surprise it’s rewarding to be able to capture it on the blog for the world to see. Such was the case with Danny Meyer’s North End Grill in Manhattan. I’ll never forget their hospitality both in the restaurant and on the rooftop.

Texas removing the mask requirement is unconscionable. My father died last month from covid because of a single exposure to a relative (who was symptomatic). This pandemic is still very much in force and wearing a mask is the first level of protection.
